The Admiral service intermediary payments service (SIP) service has expanded to include all US carrier services and will be available on all carriers by the end of this year, Admiral CEO Joe Dannemiller announced Monday.
Dannemill said the SIP service will be the same as the existing services available to consumers for US carriers and will offer all services including pay-as-you-go and over-the-phone payments.
The Admiral service intermediacy service allows consumers to pay for services and make payments in a simple and efficient way.
The service is expected to provide value to the Admiral and other US carriers, including on-demand and pay-per-view services.
The service will offer up to 20% off on select carriers, Danneman said, including the US carrier JetBlue.
The move comes at a time when carrier payments are being a hot topic for carriers as consumers increasingly turn to mobile payments and more consumers are opting to use credit cards.
“It’s great to see our customers taking advantage of our technology to pay and pay in a way that doesn’t cost them a penny more than a traditional payment method,” Dannemaill said.DANNEMILL: Admiral to allow US carriers to offer pay-in-app-to-pay services to customersSource: Admiral via Reuters
