A former “Dancing With the Stars” host has taken heat for a tweet suggesting the show’s judges were “not white” after a backlash over the comments.
During Monday’s episode of “Dance Moms,” former contestant and “D.C. Courtesan” Amber Rose was cast as the new “dance judge” for the show.
“I am so excited that this show has finally decided to embrace the idea of diversity,” Rose wrote.
“I am also extremely excited to finally meet all the talented judges.
They all look so beautiful, and I am so glad that I was chosen for the role.”
Rose, who is black, said she was a fan of the show for her diversity and wanted to give it a shot.
“They are all so talented, but I was also excited to see how they would apply the experience that I had as a dancer and judge to their new role on the show,” Rose said.
“It’s something that I have always dreamed of doing, and as a result, I was so excited to do it.”
In a statement to The Associated Press, the ABC network said it is “committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all contestants and their guests.”
Rose did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.
